The Tourist Board of the City of Krk proudly announces the 500th jubilee celebration of the Krk Fair - Lovrečeva!
Krk Fair or Lovrečeva is an annual event traditionally held from 8 to 10 August, which is celebrating a milestone anniversary this year – 500 years of history!
The City of Krk Tourist Board and the City of Krk are the organisers of this traditional event with appealing and diverse programmes that attract thousands of local and foreign visitors of all ages. The centrepiece of Lovrečeva is the fair of indigenous products and the showcase of traditional arts and crafts, including reenactments of medieval battles and themed workshops. Today, Lovrečeva serves as an exciting time machine of sorts that conjures the spirit of the era of the Frankopan Dukes of Krk in the form of a fair, ostensibly of medieval origin, which was again granted permission to take place in Krk in 1524 on the Feast Day of St. Lawrence, and which has flourished into a unique tourist attraction.
The anniversary will be highlighted by the most eventful programme yet and new attractive features, as evidenced by the outstanding lineup of musicians performing on the big stage on the Krk waterfront. The biggest draw are Grammy laureates Gipsy Kings, led by the legendary André Reyes, who will be making a stop on their current “El Origen” world tour. It is going to be an unforgettable night filled with flamenco and rumba melodies, with timeless hits such as “Bamboleo”, “Volare” and “Djobi Djoba” that have shaped the music scene and won the hearts of listeners around the world.
Admission to the concerts is free of charge!
